Brotherhood in Faith

Founded in Soweto by His Grace Comforter Frederick S. Modise on 14 September 1962, the IPHC has grown across Southern Africa. Silo Ntlokgolo in Zuurbekom remains a spiritual home for worship, fellowship and pilgrimage.

“…Ho Sebeletsa Modimo Ke Ho Sebeletsa Motho eo o sa mo tsebeng…”

“To serve God is to serve the person you do not know.”

The Legacy

The Spiritual
Lineage

Central to the IPHC identity is the office of the Comforter, a spiritual guide anchoring the church's community, order and traditions across generations. From the first church in Zone 10, Meadowlands in the 1970s to Jerusalem City in Oskraal, Nazareth in Lobotlwane and Silo Ntlokgolo in 1991 — nicknamed “The Vatican City of Gauteng” — its sanctuaries have been built by IPHC members for IPHC members, a spiritual Letsema.

  1. 1962 – 1998 · The Founder

His Grace Comforter Frederick S. Modise

Established the church on 14 September 1962 in Meadowlands, Soweto, following the Calling of the Word that healed him. On his 80th birthday he dedicated the milestone to South Africa’s first democratic elections and introduced Church Economic Empowerment.

  2. 1998 – 2016 · The Expansion

    His Grace Comforter Glayton Modise

The second Patriarch assumed leadership on 3 October 1998. Under his care the church grew into a multi-million-member movement, and Silo strengthened its role as the movement’s headquarters.

  3. 2016 – Present · The Current Era

His Grace Comforter Frederick Leonard G. Modise

The proclamation Comforter F.S. made over Frederick II at his birth — “Ona Ke Nna… This One is my embodiment” — was fulfilled as the baton of the Spiritual Calling passed to the third generation. Silo Ntlokgolo continues as the spiritual home of the IPHC under its current leadership.
